April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and taking piano classes, which ignited her passion for songwriting. April Lockhart penned her first song"Different" at twelve years old. She spent lots of the time of 14 composing songs and experimenting with music. Soon after she began taking excursions to write with her father in NY as well as LA. April was also able to add other themes in the song "Take My Hand" to help her acquaintances who faced problems like peer pressure, issues, or even teenager suicide. Lockhart is a beauty and lifestyle influencer with an ever-growing fan base. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership and is also an expert in the field of lifestyle. The disability she has is part of her personality, but it's not the entire of the picture. Lockhart's Twitter profile does not shy away from her status as disabled, but neither does it make a point of it. The message? There is more to us than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and we contain many different dimensions. Lockhart speaks through video from Nashville. "I do not want it to define my life. I don't want to only be known as a disability expert. My daily life isn't affected by it. I lead a normal daily life, and come up with myself solutions for problems. Since it's a an integral part of me and something worth talking about. Self-acceptance is a long marathon however Lockhart is an absolute inspiration for this aspect. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods of feeling uneasy about her appearance, and the clothes that showed her arms. She is able to wear anything she likes, and happily shares pictures of her wearing these clothes. She says that self-love is a journey. It's not clear whether you'll get to the point of no return. However, I believe that's the case common to everyone regardless of what their insecurity is. The people you surround yourself with that truly understand you, and can see into your heart are the best people who can remind you of the things you're worrying about.
