Kathie Lee Gifford was the host of the fourth hour on TODAY along with Hoda Kotb, from 2008 to April 5, 2019. Entertainment Weekly lauded the Gifford and Kotb show as "appointment television" as USA Today called it TODAY's Happy Hour. The year 2014 was the year that Gifford composed the critically-acclaimed TODAY The Musical which featured the host and cast on the show.
